Yan Nascimbene spent his childhood in France and Italy. After working as a photographer in a Paris fashion studio, he studied at the School of Visual Arts in New York and at the University of California at Davis.
In 1986, Nascimbene started working as an illustrator in France. After meeting and marrying his wife Joan Parazette, the couple went on to move back to California in 1991.
Nascimbene’s work has received critical acclaim as well as being exhibited and published worldwide. He is the recipient of a gold and two silver medals from the Society of Illustrators, New York and won the Bologna International Graphic Award three times. In 2011 the Venice Biennale, as part of Italy’s national unity anniversary, selected Yan Nascimbene’s work for the “Italy in the World” exhibition, at the Italia Pavilion.
Yan Nascimbene and his wife Joan Parazette, a painter and author, currently live in the South of France. Nascimbene is currently writing a series of short stories for adults.
